Internationally
recognized wildlife photographers Tom and Pat Leeson are
a husband and wife team whose photographs appear in hundreds
of US and foreign publications each year. They are best
known for their in-depth, year-round coverage of individual
wildlife species and have sold photo story packages on
grizzlies, black bear, wolves, beaver, badgers, mountain
goats, and most other North American wildlife.
During the
Leesons' 25 years in the field, they have worked on assignment
for numerous magazines, including National Geographic
Society, National Wildlife Federation, Audubon, and Sierra.
Their work
has also appeared in Life, Reader's Digest, Time,
The Wall Street Journal, Geo (U.S., German and Korean),
Terre Sauvage and Das Tier.
A lO-year
fascination with the bald eagle resulted in the highly-awarded
photo essay book The American Eagle. In 1991,
President Bush selected a Limited Edition copy of The
American Eagle to present to the Queen of England
as a Presidential Gift of State.
In recent
years, Tom and Pat have most often focused on international
wildlife subjects-pandas in China, penguins in Antarctica,
elephants in Africa and dolphins in Honduras.
The Leesons'
newest work is showcased in two recent releases: America's
Wildlife Refuges, a centennial celebration of the
The NWR system and Washington Wildlife.
Their love
of wildlife and the out of doors first inspired the Leesons
to begin their career in wildlife photography Through
their images, the Leesons hope to encourage others to
be good stewards of this incredible resource.
We wish to express our deepest appreciation for the privilege
of using some of the Leeson's photos on the HopeNet web
site.
